Macaroni & cheese, peanut butter & jelly, strawberries & chocolate… There are some pairs that are meant to be.
Pears & cinnamon is another one of those pairs. They go so well together!
I am a huge fan of pears for a couple reasons:
- They contain lots of fiber, particularly pectin which cleanses the body of unwanted toxins and lowers cholesterol.
- They clear heat and mucous from the body – pears are cooling to body which helps reduce inflammation and increase immune function.

This smoothie came about because I got pears in my farm box that I get every week. They were beautiful round d’Anjou pears…
Fresh pears are one of my favorite things. I usually eat them by slicing them and sprinkling them with cinnamon but today I figured, ‘why not make a smoothie?!’
It’s sweet, a little bit spicy, and SO satisfying. It tasted like a dessert for breakfast! I could drink another one right now.
You gotta make one yourself. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
- 1 cup almond milk
- Handful of mixed greens
- 2 d'Anjou pears
- ½ banana
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth. Top with additional cinnamon, if desired!
