Throw your hands in the air if you love to snack! And jump up and down if you love healthy snacks!
When most people think of snacking, they think of grabbing a bag of chips or a candy bar to satisfy their cravings. I’m here to help you say goodbye to those unhealthy snacks and say hey to my go-to healthy (and delicious!) snacks. These snacks will help you curb your hunger, satisfy your cravings, and keep you full until it’s time for your next meal.
Snack #1: Avocado with Himalayan Pink Salt
Avocado is full of healthy fats, which helps balance your blood sugar. Have you ever felt a mid-day energy crash? It’s likely because your blood sugar balance was off. The key to avoiding that crash and sustaining your energy throughout the day is balanced blood sugar.
I love to put Himalayan Pink Salt on my avocado! Not only does it add an incredible flavor, but pink salt also contains valuable trace minerals. Trace minerals are necessary and allow every part of your body to function properly.
Snack #2: 1051 Mineral and Electrolyte Drink
Often times when we are feeling the pangs of hunger, it is just our bodies signaling to us that we are dehydrated and need to drink more. 1051 contains those valuable trace minerals that our bodies need and doesn’t contain loads of sugar like some of those other ‘sports’ drinks. Check out my article about why trace minerals are so important for your health!
Snack #3: DIY Trail Mix Bags
Making your own trail mix bags is so much healthier than buying pre-mixed bags at the store. I like to use raw nuts in my trail mix, as they help your body absorb loads of nutrients. Seeds are a great addition to these bags as well, as they (combined with nuts) can help you balance your blood sugar. I also add in some dried fruit to add a bit of sweetness to the mix. You can buy all of these things at your local grocery or bulk food store.
Snack #4: Celery with Nut Butter
Celery is full of fiber and has a high water content. This snack is sure to keep you full and hydrated. The nut butter helps you sustain your energy so that you avoid that mid-day crash.
Snack #5: Eating Evolved Chocolate
Yes, chocolate! And it’s food, not candy 🙂
Made with cacao, this bar will give you an energy boost and is much healthier than a traditional chocolate bar. Because of the high cacao content, it’s loaded with magnesium. Magnesium is important for the production of ATP which transports energy through cells. It’s energy on a cellular level! Eating Evolved chocolate is also vegan, paleo, soy-free, refined sugar-free, and gluten-free!
You can order these bars online and use the code “laurentmt” to get a free chocolate bar with your order!
Snack #6: Apple with Coconut Butter
Apples on their own are a great snack. Not only are they crisp and tasty, but they also pack a lot of fiber. Fiber helps keep you fuller longer and keep the digestive system cleaned out. Coconut butter helps to add a little sweetness plus tons of healthy fats for a solid energy boost. It pairs perfectly with a tart green apple.
