When I lived in San Diego, I couldn’t eat enough acai bowls. And lucky for me, there were plenty of juice bars in the area that made amazingly delicious ones.
However, traditional acai bowls combine fruit (acai) and grains (granola) which hinders optimal digestion creating gas and bloating. Fruit and grain digest at a similar rate; the grain always wins the race, and the fruit is left undigested and fermenting in the gut. Nothing sounds good about that!
So, I created my own acai bowl that will leave your tummy smiling.

Ingredients
- 2 packets frozen acai
- ¼ cup frozen pineapple chunks
- ¼ cup coconut milk
- ½ banana
- 1 Tbsp raw honey
Instructions
- In a blender, combine frozen acai, pineapple, coconut milk, banana, and raw honey and blend until smooth.
- Pour mixture into a bowl and top with your desired toppings.
- Drizzle with honey and enjoy!
